About Us / Product Features

1" Double Rail bracket photo from our customer

why and how we designed our Better Brackets

Buy from the original engineers and manufacturers of the Better Bracket design for rail mounted outboard motor bracket not knock off sellers.

Our founders, Paul and Steve, built Simple System Marine dinghy motor brackets from an affinity for simple design, appreciation for quality. In 2013 we engineered and sold our first stern rail outboard motor bracket  The "Better Bracket"

Our decades of experience with sailboat manufacturing, sailboat maintenance and repairs, engineering, and as marine product end users have driven us to build rail mounted  outboard motor brackets that delivers exceptional performance.

Easy to assemble: take the Better Bracket out of the box, position the bracket on your rail and with simple tools, a Philips head screwdriver and a 7/16” wrench secure the bracket to the rails.  Easily mount and dismount your outboard motor, the top of rail positioning means no excess lifting of the motor high above the rail.

So please appreciate our concept, send us an order, and put our Better Bracket on your boat. Then tell your friends about us.

Thank you for buying the Better Bracket.

Double Rail Better Bracket

Product Features

What's a product or service you'd like to show. Materials

  • Front and Back Boards are manufactured with Starboard Marine Plastic, a marine-grade high-density polyethylene sheet and the industry standard.
  • Starboard is environmentally stabilized for harsh sun and tough marine environments.
  • Starboard does not rot, swell, splinter or delaminate when exposed to humidity or water.
  • The boards are precision cut on CNC machines.
  • Top Cap / cover is cut and formed from textured stainless steel.
  • Stainless Steel Barrel bolts, Stainless Steel Philips head screws, and Stainless Steel U-bolts with Stainless Steel locking nuts.

Features:

  • The Double Rail Better Bracket utilizes a sliding U-bolt system to secure the lower rail. No need to measure and drill holes.  The on center spacing between top and lower rail is 15”.
  • Philips Head Screwdriver and 7/16” ratchet are the only tools required to install Better Brackets.
  • If you need rail space for another product.  The Double Rail brackets are movable. Just loosen the sliding U-Bolt and Barrel Bolts slide the bracket into a new position and re-tighten the screws and bolts.
  • The horizontal  rail cuts in the front and back boards are stepped this allows the bracket to sit comfortably on rails with a curve. This gives wider flexibility for bracket placement.
  • The textured Stainless Steel Cap prevents damage and allows the outboard clamp to be secured to the front and back boards without scarring.
  • The low profile design, allows mounting of the outboard motor directly onto the top rail. This  lowers the center of gravity of the secured motor and makes lifting, placing and removing the motor much easier.
